Incoming...

Today is the day.  We spend the day trying to pretend like it's a day like any other, in hopes that the day won't drag on any harder than usual.  The end of the work day cannot come soon enough.  Once I'm out of here, I am off to pick up my travel companion Melinda and my bfffff Cheeko.  Cheeko is taking care of my dog Porkchop while we're gone as well as watching over my house.  I'll miss my little Porker..

We'll be on the road by 8pm. and hope to make it to the city by 9am.  I want rush tickets for Nevermore!

It's still not real yet.  But it will be once I see that skyline. :)

Tickets for the Daily Show with Jon Stewart acquired!

It's official! We are going be part of the Daily Show on St. Patrick's day of our trip.

I cannot wait to find out who the guest will be.  I'm sure it will be an awesome experience no matter who the guest is.  It's Jon Stewart after all.

Another item added to the itinerary:
We'll see what gems lie within.

Also:
Now this should be awesome too.  Last time when we went to Smorgasburg, it was amazing food.  This is actually crafted to be the best of the best around? Oh yes... This is happening.
On top of the trip to Smorgasburg the day after we are planning.  Well, it's actually located in the Brooklyn Flea during the winter, but that's even better because I love flea-ing too.

Things are really shaping up for an amazing trip again!

The original plan was to go to NY for two-three nights tops.  Just enough time to check out the two most important shows and some sights and come back... however... something amazing happened.  Josh's aunt Theresa agreed to not only take care of our hotel bill, but said that we may as well get the buy 4 nights get one night free.  BAM! twice the trip to plan now.  :D

Work has already given me most of those days off, so it won't be too difficult to take the extra one or two days in addition.  Thank goodness for my paid time off accumulating since July.  They shall be fine without me for a week.

Tomorrow tickets for the second season of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver go up for grabs and I plan to acquire three tickets.

Also, I will try like hell to get Daily Show with Jon Stewart tickets too.

We got to see the Late Show with David Letterman last time around, mostly because we didn't have enough time to get the tickets we really wanted.

Broadway Tickets Acquired!

We are officially going to two shows.
We have purchased the tickets to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Cabaret.  I am so stoked about seeing John Cameron Mitchell as Hedwig, I'm watching the movie right now with him in it.  As much as I love Neil Patrick Harris and Michael C. Hall, I very easily passed those two up to wait for JCM.

I am kinda sad Emma Stone won't be there still playing Sally Bowles in Cabaret, but I don't want to end up disliking her too like Michelle Williams.  I just don't think that any female can reprise Sally Bowles like Liza Minnelli did.

Alan will be amazing, I'm sure of it.  He was born to play Emcee.

Another find: The Way Station in Brooklyn.

It's a Doctor Who themed bar, stocked with themed drinks, i.e. sonic screwdrivers of the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th doctors.  It is even equipped with a TARDIS inside.  Every Sunday they host a nerd karaoke and I actually want to go.

Okay Okay, So I messed up and never wrote more...

I had a really really fantastic time last fall.  It was filled with amazing adventures and shows.  So much so, that I have to go back.
The target month: March.  Specifically for the last few performances of Hedwig and the Angry Inch as performed by John Cameron Mitchell, the original Hedwig.  <3 p="">The plan is to go with my two best friends in this world: Melinda and Josh.

I will also be seeing Alan Cumming in Cabaret for a second time, but we all knew that was going to be in the plans.

We buy our tickets for Hedwig tonight, marking the official commitment of going to NY.  We will then book the hotel through Josh's awesome Aunt Theresa whom takes good care of us.  Then Cabaret tickets on the cheap, $22 for HipTix.

Sad day for the trip...

There's been a fairly major set back in our plans.  We were only able to obtain one ticket for the Doctor Who Screening Event... so we're on the lookout for an extra ticket.  If any readers know of any tickets going for a reasonable rate, please don't hesitate to let me know.
On that note.
For SHAME ticket scalpers.
There are already tickets on sale for $100+ on the internet.  People are unbelievable.  Truly.

My faith in BBC and the people in charge of Doctor Who events is seriously shaken.  I was one of the many people who were ready and waiting at their computer for the tickets to become available.  Once noon struck, Eventbrite.com had no links to the event and nothing coming up in the search engine either.  It was a major fail by both Eventbrite.com and BBC.  I will never support Eventbrite.com, as their website is not prepared for that kind of traffic or event.  BBC didn't even post a link to the actual event until 12:07 pm ET, six and a half minutes after the tickets had already sold out.

As for Eventbrite.com, they said that each buyer was able to purchase a maximum of 2 tickets, yet it wouldn't let Josh get more than one.  So now we're stuck with only one of us going.  So way to drop the ball there, too, as if your failures for the day hadn't amounted already.
Just in case you were curious on my mood.

They Finally Announced It!!!
Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and Steve Moffat will be in New York City August 14, 2014 at 7:30pm EST.  And who else to host something so nerdy in NY but Chris Hardwick, thenerdist.
I'm going to get plenty of photos, and am even hopeful for one with the T.A.R.D.I.S.

Well, they still have to announce the venue it will be held at, but I'm happy now that I've got some more concrete ideas of the whole shindig.
Now the trick is to log in at noon on Monday and get those tickets before they all beat me to it.

Even the fact that it's only $12 for the event, it kind of blows my mind.
